An introduction to "On living left."

I'm a recent convert to the world of blogging. I already have a personal blog about my daily life which is mostly for friends and family to keep them updated on what is happening with me (and it saves me from having to send out numerous emails every week). But my personal blog frequently turns into political commentary on various issues, frequently talking about how we translate our political beliefs into every day life. So, I decided to start this blog instead.

I imagine that this blog will cover all sorts of political and personal topics, but the general theme will revolve around the concept "the personal is the political." We all have our political, moral and personal ideas and ideals. Sadly, many of us (myself included), frequently fall short of applying those ideals to our daily life. I hope that this forum will encourage all of us to think a little more about what we can do to improve our efforts at living according to our beliefs.
